Recipe Content Methodology
This page explains how recipes on LovaCook are prepared, edited, and updated. Our aim is that every published recipe is internally consistent, realistically written, and genuinely usable in a home kitchen.
Sourcing
Recipes are drawn from established home-cooking techniques and commonly cooked dishes. When a recipe is adapted from a specific external source, we note the adaptation on the page. We do not claim original authorship of well-known techniques or classic recipes.
Editorial review
Every recipe is reviewed for:
- Ingredient/instruction alignment — every ingredient is used, and every step's ingredient appears in the list.
- Realistic timing — preparation, cooking, resting, and chilling times are separated where relevant.
- Consistent quantities, temperatures, and pan sizes.
- Clear language, correct grammar, and a consistent spelling style.
- Accurate category and dietary claims (e.g. vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free) — including checks on hidden animal-derived or gluten-containing ingredients.
Dietary and allergy claims
We describe recipes with dietary claims (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free) only when the ingredient list supports the claim. Where a dish is "naturally gluten-free when all packaged ingredients are certified gluten-free," we say so plainly. We do not make medical or health promises.
Updates
Recipes may be updated for clarity, ingredient consistency, or reader-reported corrections. Where the recipe itself materially changes, we note it. See the Corrections Policy.
What we do not include
We do not include fabricated ratings, review counts, personal anecdotes we cannot substantiate, or nutrition figures we have not calculated. When a recipe is missing an accurate photograph, we mark it internally rather than showing a misleading image.
